For our second installment of eight songs we've asked our close friend and master of awesomeness, Adamo Ruggiero, to give us his list of tunes he preferes to listen to while getting ready for a night on the town. Adamo is an actor (I'm sure you've seen him before), Canadian television host and an over-all fun bag of fashionable hilariousness. Aside from being a good friend, he's often found dancing with us in our DJ booth on Saturday nights. Follow him on Twitter for hysterical updates and Lady Gaga-eque puns at @adamoruggieroWe asked Adamo:

What are eight songs you listen to while getting ready?

"On any given Friday, these songs are my bravery juice. They give me balls to wear stone washed denim, patent leather and take over the dance floor."
- Adamo

Lady Gaga: "Heavy Metal Lover" - Born This Way
This heavy, industrial pop beat opens with, "I want your whiskey mouth all over my blond self." I'm not a blond, but I drink whiskey... Enough said.

Yeah Yeah Yeah's: "Heads Will Roll" - It's Blitz
This song is my shoes. "Glitter on the wet streets" reminds me that my high top, heeled brown leather boots are a part of my nervous system. On the T.O. streets and her dance floors.

Billy Joel: "My Life" - 52nd Street
Sometimes fear of what others think forces me to ignore the best pieces in my closet. Then I remember, this is my life --- so go ahead with your own life, and leave me and my bow tie alone.

Madonna: "Ray of Light" - Confessions Tour LIVE (bonus Track)
At the root of it, this is my religion. Life should be this track. One. Big. Gay. Mosh pit. Dance party.

Rilo Kiley: "Dejalo" - Under the Black Light
A hot chick singing about enticing a guy to drink and get messy with her. My Friday night alter ego.

Tim Curry: "Sweet Transvestite" - The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Played only when i apply concealer, eyeliner and... dream of bangs and blush. Literally and metaphorically.

Beatles: "Come Together" - Abbey Road
My second half Brittney Townson does not start a weekend without a Beatles record. And she expects nothing less from her friends. So we come together in fashion and freedom.

Queen & David Bowie: "Pressure" - Hot Space
After a work week. A bad week. Yet another week. It is a terror of knowing what this world is about. This track tells me friends + whiskey are my freedom. And it's sung by the two most baddest ass bitches in town.

Lindsay
dill
I recently had breakfast at Lola's Comissionary and when my eggs benedict came add I noticed they add dill to their bĂ©arnaise sauce. With just one bite I came to the sudden realization that dill and bĂ©arnaise sauce is better then sex with a stranger. The same day I had a coleslaw with dill in it at the Kensington Cornerstone which solidified my love of dill. It's pretty safe to say that since then the phrase "healthy obsession" no longer applies to my relationship with dill.

"hold the line" by toto
If you think Toto's only hit is 'Africa' then you're sadly mistaken. You can thank me later for the next four minutes of your life.

Brittney
mini tattoo flash
I'm recently realizing that have a lot of tattoos, but also a lot of space inbetween those tattoos. I've been skimming through dozens and dozens of old school, traditional and vintage nautical tattoo flash recently so that I can eventually fill up the spots on my arm with cute little things like stars, keys, hearts and other objects. But my next tattoo, me thinks, is me fixing up the pair of sunglasses on my arm to make them into 3D glasses. Huzzah!

"living for the city" by stevie wonder
This is one of my all-time favorite Stevie songs. I do a killer Stevie Wonder impression, too. Just give me some sunglasses and sit back and enjoy. What makes me even happier is that my boyfriend's band Ride The Tiger covers this and fucking kills it, too. Can't get enough.

NEW FEATURE!

For our first installment of eight songs we've asked our super fantastical friend and fellow Bangs&Blusher Holly Mariko to roll out her favorite tracks. Holly lists her job description with Bangs&Blush as " look good, take money, dance.". We love her like she was our little sister and  we also think she's one of the funniest girls we know. Follow her on Twitter for hysterical updates and general musings about being the keeper of the door @TorontoDoorGirl. We asked Holly:

What are eight songs you're listening to right now?

1. I Choose Happiness – David Choi
This song always puts me in a good mood. Always.

2. Speak Easy – Big Rude Jake
The best song for a lazy day on the verandah with a drink.

3. I Want To Hold Your Hand – The Beatles
The lyrics of this song were written in the first real Valentine card I received. It's my favourite Beatles song.

4. You Sexy Thing (cover)– Stereophonics
Kelly Jones has this super sexy whiskey voice that never fails to make me swoon.

5. Jimmy Mack – Charity Brown
Somehow this song always winds up on the radio while I'm baking. Then I have to take a break and dance around my kitchen (and occasionally crash into things by accident).

6. Too Fake – Hockey
I heard this song on a TV show and couldn't get it out of my head. I'm hooked.

7. Little Letters – The Box Tiger
I loved this song so much I ripped it off YouTube so that I could put in on my iPod. Their voices are what I can only describe as “dreamy”.

8. Big Green Tractor – Jason Aldean
This song has all this twangy-ness that reminds me of the town near my cottage, where people actually drive tractors to the grocery store. I'm pretty sure he's more in love with the tractor than the girl.

Holly is the best. Come back next week for a new Eight Songs feature with a special guest!
