Bangs & Blush, a.k.a. Lindsay Darling and Brittney Townson, are just days away from celebrating our first year together and we'd like to take this time to speak a little about the past 365 days of parties, cocktail dresses and great music. First and foremost, Bangs & Blush was brought to life out of our years of friendship and mutual admiration of all things sixties/soul/rock & roll/fun. We had imagined bringing parties to the city of Toronto where kids of all types were excited to throw on their vintage suits and rock some up-do's and spend their evenings dancing away to unstoppable tunes from the 60's. We wanted to bring people unforgettable evenings out that turn into precious memories. We wanted to bring smiles, excitement and confidence to every last one of them on the dance floor. We wanted to encourage girls and boys alike to shake like no one's watching and make a lot of new friends while doing so. But most of all, we wanted to bring back the feeling that our favorite songs from the Motown/Northern Soul/British Rock Invasion were meant to give: life's good, so let's all dance.
We'd like to invite you to come to this weekend's Shake Rattle & Roll where we're throwing ourselves a 1st birthday party! Party favours (tambourines and B&B pins, anyone?), a pop-up photo booth with the awesome Becca Lemire from She Does The City and a big, happy crowd on the dance floor guaranteed to be moving hard and fast to the sounds of soul and rock & roll that we offer every Saturday at Clintons! Come celebrate with us, because it's fun being one!
We're very excited about turning one; it's been one hell of a year for us and we hope to top it by the time we turn two! We couldn't have done it without our countless amounts of awesome people who show up to Clintons every Saturday night for Shake Rattle & Roll, to our Fuck It party every second Friday of every month at Clintons and to every other party we've ever thrown in this city. We couldn't have done it without the incredible staff at Clintons who have since become family to us. We couldn't have done it without our amazing friends and family who were always there to support us with whatever we were doing. And, we couldn't have done it without each other. We're just two girls who know our tunes who want nothing more than to give our old and new friends alike one hell of a dance party. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
